Everything is ready in Rovescala, in the Oltrepò Pavese region, for the eagerly anticipated and certainly spectacular international Elite and Under 23 competition. The race is scheduled for Sunday over a distance of 164.4 km on a circuit different from previous editions. A 27.4-kilometer loop will be repeated 6 times with a total elevation gain of 2,550 meters.
The inclusion in the international calendar allows organizers to have professional teams at the start line competing for UCI points, which are vital for them. The competition between riders from 4 UCI Professional-classified Sports Groups and numerous Italian and foreign Continental teams, not to mention the "Clubs," will be the driving force of this Lombard event.
This year the Gran Premio Colli Rovescalesi-Trofeo Enertrade will start at 1 p.m. Regarding the professionals, Polti-VisitMalta has entered Adrian Benito, Fabricio German Crozzolo, Thomas Pesenti, Javier Serrano, and Gabriele Bessega. For MBH Bank, Cesare Chesini, Lorenzo Nespoli, Diego Bracalente, Luca Cretti, and Filip Gruszczynski are expected to race, while Bardiani-Csf-7 Saber has confirmed the participation of Luca Covili, Vicente Rojas, Luca Paletti, Edward Cruz, and Luca Covili. Also among the professional teams, manager Serge Parsani has guaranteed the presence of Solution Tech-Nippo-Rali with Andrea Piras, Matteo Regnanti, Valerio Conti, Alexandre Balmer, and Kyrylo Tsarenko.
Manager Alberto Volpi's Ukyo is a Continental team but now with professional-level credentials, and will be racing in Rovescala. We'll see Nicolò Garibbo in action, winner of the first stage of the 2026 Giro della Sardegna. The Castelsardo-Bosa stage was absolutely the first professional race in Italy in 2026. Alongside Ligurian Garibbo, Ukyo in Rovescala will have Nahom Araya, Andrea D'Amato, Simone Raccani, and Ren Mochizuki.
Stefano Saroni, Alberto Bernini and the other Rovescala organizers have assigned bib number 1 to Vicentian Marco Palomba, winner of the 2025 edition (he was with General Store). Now Palomba is with Padovani-Polo-Cherry Bank and at the Gran Premio Colli Rovescalesi will be supported by emerging talent Kevin Bertoncelli, winner in Osio Sotto, Tommaso Quaglia, and Thomas Turri. Padovani is classified as Continental.
Luca Rosa will likely be captain of Sissio Team. The Continental-classified boys from Swatt Club, the absolute dominant force at Firenze-Viareggio, will be feared. Manuel Oioli, triumphant in the city of the famous carnival, will be supported by Nicolò Pettiti, Giacomo Garavaglia, Lorenzo Ginestra, and Lorenzo Galimberti. Team Beltrami TSA-Tre Colli will probably rely on Michael Belleri, Rostese on Gabriel Fede, with captain's armband for Ilya Savekin in Baix Ebre Tortosa, which has strong Russian riders.
"Slesarenko, Villa, Sanfilippo, Milesi and Quadriglia will race for us," announces Dario Nicoletti, sports director of Biesse-Carrera-Premac, another Continental team. MG K Vis will have George Wood, who has already performed well in Rovescala. MG K Vis, managed by Baldini, is Continental, as is General Store, a team that has entered a very fit Davide De Cassan alongside Bortoluzzi, 7th last year, Ponomar, Biehl, and Colbachini.
Fermanelli is one of the names for Vega-Vitalcare, also Continental, and Voralberg will have Giacomo Ballabio. Manuel Dovesi is the most favored rider for Goodshop-Yoyogurt, Overall Tre Colli will rely on the pride of its riders, such as Garlaschese and Pregnana. Giosuè Epis and Giosuè Crescioli (1st at Trofeo Matteotti) will race with Gallina-Lucchini colors. Congratulations to Nicola Zumstein for his victory at the Gran Premio di San Giuseppe in the Marche: he will likely be the number 1 seed for Velo Club Mendrisio (Switzerland) in Rovescala, and Otis Jones for Zappi Racing Team. Foreign teams must be added, with strong Continental representation. In Italy, various teams such as Hrinkov-Advarics, Lokomotiv Manas, Martigues, Kosova, Factor, St Kilda, Skyline, Run & Race, UC Monaco, WSK-Ktm Graz, Velo Performance have frequently raced, all intending to make a good showing among the hills adorned with the festive vineyards of Rovescala and surroundings. Logically, the official list of teams and participants will be released Sunday morning after license verification.
