On the afternoon of Saturday, July 4th, at the BMX Stadium on via don Sterlocchi in Olgiate Comasco, the inauguration of the new BMX Race track will take place, an event organized by BMX Ciclistica Olgiatese with the patronage of the Lombardy Region, the Municipality of Olgiate Comasco and the Panathlon International Club of Como.

A historic milestone for BMX Ciclistica Olgiatese, which has been directly managing the BMX Stadium for years, achieved after a long and winding path that characterized the executive design and implementation phases. The project, presented in January 2022, obtained funding from the Lombardy Region and the Municipality of Olgiate Comasco.

"It will be a special event, dedicated to all two-wheeled sports enthusiasts combining sport, fun and pure adrenaline, worthy of the efforts and financial commitments made by all those involved, which we want to experience together with the authorities, sponsors, friends and supporters, athletes, and former company presidents - comments president Michele Guariglia – Over the years our organization has taken care of the ordinary maintenance of the sports facility, the preparation and implementation of important adaptation and improvement projects, to maintain the highest standards in the national and international landscape. This moment represents the well-deserved reward for the great work carried out over all these years".

The program includes at 5:00 PM the reception of authorities, sponsors and supporters, with a reserved visit to the renovated sports facility, at 6:00 PM the beginning of the inauguration ceremony, with official statements and interviews, at 7:00 PM the ribbon cutting with the first descent from the starting gate. Athletes from the Italian National BMX team will be present for training from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

The new track will then be open until 10:00 PM for free BMX RACE practice for FCI-licensed athletes; with music, food and drinks throughout the evening. The following day, Sunday, July 5th, the track will be made available to all licensed members of Italian BMX clubs for BMX RACE practice.
