At the last moment, the Li Ning Star also puts its signature on the Tour de Gyeongnam 2026. To celebrate at the end of the very short final stage (just 44 kilometers) of the South Korean race was indeed Luke Mudgway who, perfectly launched by his teammates, left no chance to his rivals in the sprint, thus signing the nineteenth seasonal success for the Chinese Continental team.
Behind him, Lucas Carstensen (Kinan Racing Team), third, and Andrea D'Amato (Team UKYO), who, despite missing the appointment with victory this week, thanks to second place today, sixth in the Tongyeong stage and another podium finish obtained two days ago in Sacheon, took home the green jersey as winner of the points classification.
Staying within UKYO, alongside the twenty-three-year-old from Stradella, Tommaso Dati and Simone Raccani also celebrated today, who, after being protagonists throughout the week, after the finish line climbed together on the podium to celebrate respectively the first and second place in the final general classification: for the native of Camaiore this is his sixth success of 2026, for the Vicenza native and former Zalf rider instead the best placement of his career in a stage race, equal to the second places obtained last year at the Tour of Japan and precisely at the Tour de Gyeongnam.
Keeping him company on the lowest step of the podium was Nils Sinschek (Li Ning Star) who, believing in it until the end, managed to overtake in the standings Adne van Engelen, relegating his compatriot from the Terengganu Cycling Team to fourth position by just one second. The Dutchman thus narrowly misses the appointment with a second consecutive podium in the South Korean stage race, an event that last year had seen him finish in the top three alongside the aforementioned Raccani and Dylan Hopkins (Roojai Insurance Winspace) and which, in general, this year has confirmed itself as preferred hunting ground for Oceanic riders (four stage wins in 2025, three in this edition) and Italian riders (one stage win both last season and this edition with the addition, however, of one more man on the final podium).
