A double victory in less than 24 hours for CCACHE x BODYWRAP at the Tour de Gyeongnam 2026. Following Alastair Christie-Johnston's triumph in Tongyeong, in the third stage finishing in Sacheon after 126 kilometers, it was Liam Walsh's turn to raise his arms to the sky, giving the Australian Continental team their second consecutive victory in the short South Korean stage race.
Thanks to a sprint that left no room for replies, the twenty-five-year-old from Brisbane prevailed ahead of Andrea D'Amato (Team UKYO) and New Zealander Tom Sexton (St George Continental Cycling Team), who could do nothing against the 2023 Oceania road champion, who claimed his seventh elite-level victory in his career, not counting his track achievements where his talents allowed him, for example, to become World vice-champion in team pursuit with the Australian national team.
In the general classification, with two stages remaining, nothing changed with Simone Raccani (Team UKYO) maintaining his yellow leader's jersey with 2 seconds over Simon Pellaud (Li Ning Star) and 10" on his teammate Tommaso Dati, who appeared very active in the final when, alongside Dylan Hopkins (Roojai Insurance Winspace), Jeroen Meijers (Victoria Sports Pro Cycling), Elliot Schultz (Victoire Hiroshima), David Delgado (Quick Pro) and Alastair Christie-Johnston (CCACHE x BODYWRAP), he attempted to break away with an attack that started around 17 km from the finish but was neutralized only at the 3,000-meter banner to the line.
In the early stages, meanwhile, proving how aggressively the CCACHE x BODYWRAP riders are racing, it was William Heffernan who stood out, spending a long time in the breakaway with a solo attempt that was shut down by the peloton 46 kilometers from the finish.
