In these days when the "Mission Giro" of the Unibet Rose Rockets (as the French-licensed team has renamed its campaign on the roads of the Giro Rosa), here is a team in many ways similar to that of Bas Tietema, Josse Wester and Devin van der Wiel like the Swatt Club has officially launched its campaign to participate in the Giro d'Italia by 2030.
With a message published on its social channels and addressed to everyone—enthusiasts, potential investors and above all dreamers—the Italian Continental team led by Carlo Beretta has openly set its sights on participating in our Grand Tour within the next four years, a timeframe that is sufficient, on paper, to take the necessary steps and bring aboard the Swatt world the personalities and sponsors needed to turn this ambitious project into reality.
"Since 2013 we have pushed our dreams beyond the visible, we aim for the total abstraction of things and to get there we do it by believing only in the love for what we do" reads the post circulated on Swatt's platforms.
"We could consider ourselves more than satisfied with the concrete work we have done so far, but every day we wake up telling ourselves that the impossible is in front of us, it's there. With our style, with our approach, with the Swatt spirit, we want to tell you that you inspired us. You who were present at the first corner, at the Crits, at the Tour de Swatt. To you that in 2017 we said "Road to World Tour" with irony, or perhaps with unconscious conviction. To you that in 2024 we said we would make the Elite team and you embraced us, leading us to do what happened in 2025. You inspired us not to stop" continues the Italian team's statement of intent before reaching the heart of the announcement.
"We want to step on the accelerator, because now is the time and we don't want to fail. The campaign for a crazy sports dream has begun: our Moon is the Giro d'Italia by 2030. Call acquaintances, convince your bosses, invest in this madness. Our door has opened, we want to make the big leap and we can do it with the support of those who believe in a crazy dream. We have believed in it since 2013, since our birth. OPERATION GIRO D'ITALIA".
The great challenge at Swatt for the next four years is therefore launched and, projecting ourselves over the coming months, it will be interesting to see who, struck by the determination of the small Italian outfit, will want to take it on: whether to bring it to a successful conclusion or not will essentially depend on how many and how new potential partners will want to support and guide by hand this strong reality, leading it first towards the obligatory transition to professionalism and then, with momentum, towards a goal that undoubtedly represents an extremely fascinating aspiration.
