Last night at La Scala in Milan, Colnago presented its latest jewel, the C72, the limited edition C72 La Scala, a tribute to what represents one of the most iconic expressions of Italian culture in the world, and the Colnago Atlas, the first work of the new Colnago Culture project.
In an evening gala with guests from around the world, the two-wheeled beauties perfectly blended with the notes of pianist Margherita Colombo, tenor Cristóbal Campos Marín and soprano Mariapaola Di Carlo, who delighted the audience with La donna è mobile from Giuseppe Verdi's Rigoletto, O mio babbino caro from Giacomo Puccini's Gianni Schicchi and Suzel, buon dì... Tutto tace from Pietro Mascagni's L'amico Fritz.
After the greeting from Fortunato Ortombina, Superintendent and Artistic Director of the Teatro alla Scala, Colnago's CEO Nicola Rosin thanked all those present and the partners who are helping him carry forward the company founded and made famous worldwide by Ernesto Colnago and which today still supplies bikes to the world's best riders, starting with number 1 Tadej Pogacar, to whom Colnago will dedicate the documentary Pog1 in the coming months. Engineer Davide Fugamagalli then illustrated the innovations of the latest Colnago model, which we have already dedicated a dedicated article to.
Beyond the product, towards culture
The launch of the C72 also marked the introduction of Colnago Culture, the brand's new cultural platform dedicated to the valorization and preservation of its historical, technical and creative heritage.
Conceived as a long-term initiative, Colnago Culture was born with the objective of structuring and developing the brand's narrative beyond the product, exploring the connections between design, engineering, craftsmanship and Italian identity. It reflects a broader vision in which performance is not measured only on the road, but is also expressed through culture, storytelling and creative production.
Designed as an open platform, Colnago Culture will evolve through editorial projects, film productions and curated exhibitions, engaging with a broader ecosystem of Italian excellence across different fields and disciplines.
Colnago Atlas
On the occasion of the launch, Colnago presented Colnago Atlas, the first expression of Colnago Culture. Colnago Atlas is a richly illustrated volume that traces the extraordinary journey of the brand, from its origins in Cambiago to its global presence. Through archival materials, iconic bicycles, legendary victories and personal stories, the book offers a unique perspective on cycling culture and evolution through Colnago's lens. Conceived as an atlas, it can be explored across time, geography and design, while celebrating both innovation and tradition. Designed as a true collector's item, the volume is presented in an elegant 258x352x44.5 mm format and is characterized by a curated selection of premium papers dedicated to it.
