Enrico Della Casa, President of the Union Européenne de Cyclisme: «These new events further enrich our calendar and represent another demonstration of the vitality of European cycling. We are particularly pleased to introduce for the first time in history the Women's European Stayer Championship as evidence that gender equality represents one of the priorities on the UEC agenda since 2021, and this step demonstrates that we are moving in the right direction.»
Cordiano Dagnoni, President of the Italian Cycling Federation: «Varese is one of the places closest to the heart of Italian cycling for many reasons, from the historic Tre Valli Varesine to the World Championship won by Ballan in 2008. It has also, for some time now, been the centre of the Granfondo that has surpassed 10 editions and captivated enthusiasts for the beauty of the route and organizational quality. International recognition, which came some time ago when the UCI included it in the Gran Fondo World Series circuit, is now enriched, deservedly, with the qualification of European Championship. Congratulations to SC Alfredo Binda for this prestigious recognition.
With particular satisfaction, I also welcome the assignment of the Continental Derny and Stayer Championships to Pordenone. A satisfaction that stems from my personal history and a strong bond that ties me to these specialties. I am confident that the Friends of the Pordenone Track will be able to organize an event capable of showcasing spectacle and technical quality, confirming the organizational excellence of our cycling movement on the international stage.»
José Vicioso, President of the Spanish Cycling Federation: «For the Spanish Cycling Federation, it is excellent news that Sabiñánigo will host the UEC European Youth MTB Championships 2027. This is an event of enormous sporting and development value, which will bring together some of the most promising young talents of the continent in one of the most suitable locations in our country for cycling. Sabiñánigo and the surrounding territory offer an exceptional setting for our sport, with a deep cycling tradition and an environment perfectly suited for high-level competitions. We are convinced that it will be an extraordinary opportunity to showcase the great potential of the area as a venue for major cycling events and to inspire the next generation of riders who represent the future of European mountain biking.»
Bernd Dankowski, President of the German Cycling Federation: «This is a great source of satisfaction for us that Germany is hosting two European Cycling Championships this year. The European BMX Freestyle Championships in Darmstadt and the European Under 23 Cycle Ball Championships in Kamenz represent a significant demonstration of the variety and strength of our sport. It is a great honour for us and also a particular responsibility to host international competitions of such high level. We are confident that both events will offer high-quality sporting performances, an enthusiastic audience and an excellent atmosphere. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the local organizers, partners and volunteers who, with great dedication, are contributing to making these European Championships possible. We look forward with enthusiasm to two great events and extend a warm welcome to Germany to athletes and guests from all over Europe.»
Marianne Kern, President of Swiss Indoor - & Unicycling: «We are proud to host the UEC European Under 23 Cycle Ball Championships 2027 in Liestal (Switzerland). The Under 23 category represents a fundamental step for young athletes in their journey towards the highest levels of this discipline. We expect a great event, with high-level challenges and spectacular matches. We look forward to welcoming the European national teams and all enthusiasts for this important appointment.»
