Drali Milano strengthens its bond with professional cycling and from today becomes Official Bike of the northwest classics of RCS Sport. The Milanese bicycle manufacturer will add its name to the Milan-Turin, Milan-Sanremo and Gran Piemonte, three races that represent excellence in the Italian and international cycling landscape.
The Drali brand was officially founded in 1925 by Carlo Drali and just last year celebrated 100 years of activity. Multiple times throughout history, Drali Milano's story has intersected with Italian classics, a special bond that has its roots in the 1940s. It was 1946 when Fausto Coppi won his first Spring Classic on a frame welded by Mr. Drali himself. Eighty years have passed since that historic day when Carlo and his son Giuseppe celebrated the Sanremo victory, a special moment etched in history.
It seems written in destiny, but the stories of Drali Milano and the Spring Classic have brushed past each other multiple times until they finally met. Last November, the Milanese bicycle manufacturer became Title Sponsor of Drali Repsol, the Continental team led by Alexander Kristoff who triumphed at Sanremo in 2014, becoming the first and only Norwegian to achieve this feat.
From this year onwards, Drali Milano returns as protagonist of the Italian RCS classics as Official Bike. The Milanese company will thus be present at Milan-Turin, Milan-Sanremo and Gran Piemonte, always in the front row of top-level cycling, just as its history demands.
