Mads Pedersen is not wasting any time and, as he himself documented through his Instagram profile, he has already returned to cycling just four days after the surgery he was forced to undergo following his devastating crash at the Volta Comunitat Valenciana.
Taking advantage of a beautiful sunny day, the Danish Lidl-Trek rider engaged in a light session on the rollers on the balcony of his Monte Carlo home, where, even barefoot and with his left arm extensively bandaged and resting on an improvised support, he demonstrated that he is already looking ahead.
Not by chance, the three-time Gand-Wevelgem winner chose to accompany the short video featuring himself with the caption "Reminder: enjoy the small steps forward", a signal that the Scandinavian rider wants to put behind him the false start of this 2026 and return to the saddle as soon as possible without completely wasting the work and sacrifices made in recent weeks.
Despite the road to full recovery still being long, Pedersen (who last Wednesday suffered a double fracture to his left wrist and right collarbone) has already regained the right spirit and mood to face the rehabilitation period that awaits him, with everyone hoping for a return that will not be too far into the season.
