Even before crossing the finish line of the 2026 edition, the BGY Airport Granfondo has already achieved a symbolic and concrete result: over twelve hundred participants have already confirmed their participation, choosing to be part of a project that continues to grow, renew, and strengthen its identity.

A number that means more than a statistic and tells the story of a clear and inclusive vision: the granfondo is about you. A unique format in the Italian - and international - landscape, capable of offering a wide choice of routes, emotions, and ways of experiencing cycling, open to every type of athlete and bicycle, in a unique and inimitable scenario. All with a strong and recognizable identity, starting from the partnership with BGY Milan Bergamo Airport, the event's title sponsor and Europe's first bike-friendly airport.

It is from this "launch pad" that the 2026 edition takes shape, scheduled for Sunday, May 10th, the 28th edition of a story that began in 1996 and has become - with almost 40 years of on-road event experience - an absolute reference point in the granfondo landscape. The BGY Airport Granfondo is included in the FCI calendar and is stably in the Granfondo Series A.

The event's relaunch also passes through a claim that encapsulates philosophy and identity: BGYOU. Bergamo is you. You are the bike, you are the passion, you are the personal way of experiencing cycling as an experience, effort, discovery, and connection with the beauty and nature of an Italy to be pedaled.

A direct invitation to every cyclist, of any level and "type", to feel part of a moving community, capable of looking to the future without losing the connection with an authentic and fascinating territory made of iconic climbs, valleys, historic villages, and mountains.

The start, as tradition dictates, will be from Via Marzabotto, near Bergamo Stadium, in the heart of a city that is increasingly international and bike-friendly.

For 2026, participants can choose three iconic routes plus a sprint, the absolute novelty of the edition, with the possibility of deciding even at the last moment which route to tackle, based on their preparation and daily sensations:
- Sprint: 63 km | 800 D+ (absolute novelty)
- Short: 91 km | 1400 D+
- Medium: 130 km | 2100 D+
- Long: 148 km | 2800 D+
