Next year will no longer be the Firenze-Empoli, as has happened from 1988 to today (first edition won by Sicilian Giovanni Scatà), to open the cycling season in Tuscany. The classic organized by Maltinti Banca Cambiano will also take place in 2026 (Saturday, February 21) but will be preceded a week earlier by the "Two Days" that will be organized at the Mugello Circuit in Scarperia by the Polisportiva Virtus VII Miglio of Settimello di Calenzano, the society chaired by Paolo Traversi which continues to be very active in organizing road and cyclocross races.
The opening of the next cycling season in Tuscany will therefore be Saturday, February 14 with the Trofeo Campioni Mugellani at the Mugello Circuit, a national race for elite and under 23. Sunday, February 15, still in Scarperia the rematch with the Mugello Bike Expo Trophy up for grabs and on the same holiday, women's elite will also race to compete for the Trophy of Arts and Crafts of Mugello Tradition. Both Sunday races will also be national in character.
