Those born in Novi Ligure, the "city of champions," are obliged to perform well on a bicycle. Indeed, Gabriele Peluso in the 2025 road season with Ecotek jersey has made a great impression multiple times: he won a stage and the overall classification of the Giro della Ciociaria Juniores, and finished 2 times in 3rd place, 4 times in 4th, and 3 times in 5th place. As everyone knows, junior races have significantly decreased in recent years, and the strongest riders almost always compete together, so Peluso's record is impressive. From January 1st, we'll see him wearing the Trevigiani-Energia Pura jersey under Rino De Candido and other qualified coaches.
"Peluso," declares Luigi Braghini, entrepreneur and team president of Ecotek, "is a determined rider." The Giro della Ciociaria is the first stage race my team has won, and the credit goes to Peluso. In the last stage, the support of Loda and our other riders was crucial. In the final stage, Peluso was stronger than misfortune, and despite changing 3 bikes, he managed to finish the race as the leader. Gabriele gave us a beautiful gift. His season was very good, and even when he didn't win, he earned high marks. With him, we have realized our project of delivering a competitive and growing rider to the Junior category. He has earned a important team like Trevigiani".
Gabriele has the typical structure of a climbing domestique, 61 kilos distributed over 175 centimeters. "Basically," says Gabriele, who lives with mom Tamara, dad Michele, and sister Sara in Carpeneto, always in the Alessandria territory, "I am satisfied with my last junior season".
Peluso's only regret concerns the Giro della Castellania, the classic race held every year in Pettenasco, on Lake Orta. The 2025 edition was won by Matteo Turconi ahead of Gabriele Scagliola, with Peluso in 3rd place. "The Pettenasco race ends on a climb of about 1500 meters," notes Gabriele, who before wearing the Ecotek jersey was with Vigor Piasco, Jan Bike, and the Valenza team, "perfectly suited to my characteristics. There were no sprinters in the leading group, as we had lost them on previous climbs. In a sprint against climbing domestiques, I could have achieved a better result, maybe even winning. I didn't set up the sprint well. However, two very strong riders were ahead of me".
Now the 2025 season is in the archives, and the Alessandria native, graduated from the Mechanics Institute, looks ahead: "I'll debut among the Under 23s, and the difficulties will increase, especially in frequent confrontations with riders from World Tour Development teams. But allow me to dream big from the first year: I hope to earn a starting spot in the Giro d'Italia Next Gen and win the young rider classification, the white jersey". Every young rider has a model to follow: "I'm a climbing domestique, I should say Tadej Pogacar. Instead, my idol has very different characteristics: it's Wout Van Aert, a fast domestique. We share a fighting spirit".
