Isabella doesn't stop! Holmgren won the 10-kilometer individual time trial, valid as the second half-stage today and the final act of the Tour de l'Avenir Femmes. The 20-year-old Canadian from Lidl Trek, who had already won Saturday's prologue, completed the afternoon's race in 28 minutes and 59 seconds, giving 1'03" to Australian Talia Appleton, with Marion Brunel third at 1'11" and Eleonora Ciabocco, fourth place, at 1'35".
This morning, a photo finish was needed to attribute the victory of the first half-stage: Holmgren had beaten the French U23 national champion Marion Bunel, with Talia Appleton coming third 2'46" behind the winner. Behind them finished Belgian Lore De Schepper and Eleonora Ciabocco.
The final general classification therefore rewards Holmgren, who can definitively put the yellow jersey of the French race in her trophy cabinet; in second place Marion Bunel, who fails to repeat her Tour de l'Avenir victory, and in third place the talented Appleton. Eleonora Ciabocco closes this competition by ranking fifth. Regarding the other Italian riders, Federica Venturelli finished seventeenth, ahead of Gaia Segato, Carlotta Cipressi closes twenty-third, and Elisa Valtulini ranks forty-fourth.
