
Samuele Privitera, a 20-year-old cyclist from Imperia, is hospitalized in serious conditions at the Umberto Parini Hospital in Aosta. He is a member of the Hagens Berman Jayco team and crashed in Pontey during the first stage of the 61st Cycling Tour of Valle d'Aosta - Mont Blanc, an under 23 race.
According to reports, the rider fell alone, losing his protective helmet and hitting his head against a gate. Privitera was immediately assisted by the race ambulance and 118 medical personnel who resuscitated him.
