
Confirming his excellent condition, the 16-year-old Marche junior Gabriele Andrea Alessiani from the strong Petrucci Zero24 Cycling Team won the individual time trial that opened the third edition of the Giro dei Tre Comuni - Memorial Silvano Marchetti in Crespina, in the province of Pisa. At the finish line in Piazza Battisti, in front of the Crespina Lorenzana Municipality (with Mayor David Bacci present), Alessiani was the only rider to finish under 12 minutes after a time trial that included a 3 km flat section, the Siberia climb, and a final steep section to the finish line. The winner, who beat the Lazio rider Fiacco (first among first-year juniors) by 11 seconds and Lucca's Agnini by 12 seconds, rode at an average speed of 42.667 km/h.
Ninety-five juniors participated in the race organized by Ciclistica Mobilieri Ponsacco with 20 teams. For the winner, the special white jersey of the overall leader (this year the stage race is based on time rather than points), for Fiacco the yellow jersey of the best young rider, and for Agnini the red jersey of the intermediate sprint leader. Tomorrow, Sunday, the second stage will start and finish in Cenaia at the Oasi del Verde, the race headquarters thanks to its owner Claudio Macelloni. The start is at 2:30 PM on a 12.600 km circuit to be repeated five times.
