
Another national race for elite and under-23 amateurs in Tuscany, the eighth San Giovanni Valdarno City Trophy, scheduled today on the roads of Valdarno with start and finish in the historic center. An anticipated and prestigious challenge on a longer and more demanding route with 184 riders from 27 teams registered. The event is organized by Polisport 2000 from Mercatale Valdarno together with the passionate local Sports Committee with the patronage of the Municipality of San Giovanni Valdarno.
THE ROUTE: In the first part, a 24-kilometer circuit is planned with the climbs of Montanina-Meleto and Castelnuovo dei Sabbioni, in the second part of the stimulating contest, a 15.6 km loop to be repeated 5 times, with the challenging Vacchereccia ascent. The start of the Valdarno race is scheduled for 1:30 PM and the finish in front of the Municipal building along Corso Italia, with the banner positioned at the height of Piazza Cavour.
REGISTERED RIDERS: Registrations opened by Sissio Team, the team that won last year when the race was valid for the Tuscan Championship, with Tommaso Rigatti as the winner. Among those present are the Mexican A.R. Monex Pro Cycling, Zappi Racing Team, Team Hamaslul, Borga Cycles Team Energyup. Among the registered riders are Tommaso Dati from Versilia of Biesse Carrera Premac, in great form with recent victories in Galciana di Prato and yesterday in the second race at Castelfidardo of the Two Days Marchigiana, and Francesco Parravano from Lazio of MG Kvis Costruzioni e Ambiente, who also won in the Marche region over the weekend.
