Thanks to the authorization granted by RCS, the municipality of Castelnovo ne' Monti borrows the symbol and claim of the Giro d'Italia for Women's Day. Today, March 8th, at nightfall, and during the weekend evenings, the phrase "Infinite Love", the claim of the Giro d'Italia, will illuminate the Isolato Maestà, the skyscraper on Via Roma, in pink. From Monday, the light installation will change and will be lit every evening until the stage arrival in Castelnovo on May 21st: it will be dedicated to the anticipation of the Stage that is already highly anticipated.
The initiative stems from an idea by the Municipality of Castelnovo Monti in collaboration with the Maestà Condominium, a symbol of the town center and energy redevelopment. In the coming days, when the rich program of initiatives leading up to the Giro is unveiled, the logos of the main partner companies of the Castelnovo Stage City project will also appear on the skyscraper's wall.
Mayor Emanuele Ferrari states: "We chose the skyscraper because it's a central location near the church, town hall, and theater, and it's also a symbol of Castelnovo recently renovated. We wanted a special moment to start illuminating it and thought of Women's Day. Pink is the color of dawn, 'dawn has rosy fingers' as Homer wrote, and it symbolizes the ability to be reborn and give life to light. For us, it has a profound meaning of this holiday - women's capacity to bring light, give birth and rebirth, regain vigor even in a time when unfortunately news continues to speak of femicide and difficulties in achieving real rights equality. This symbol in the town center becoming pink like the dawn is a sign of daily commitment to these goals. I also thank the residents of Isolato Maestà, whose collaboration was essential in setting up this sign."
THE NEW LOGO. The Giro d'Italia in Castelnovo Monti, with the arrival of the 11th stage on May 21st in the center of the Apennine town, represents a historic event for the town, an event that now also has its own symbol, as Castelnovo Monti Stage City: as indicated by RCS, the organizing company of the Giro, alongside the race's logo, another specifically created and approved logo has been placed. A logo that features the Bismantova Stone in the background, with a cyclist climbing uphill.
The logo will be used for all promotional initiatives and events related to the Giro in Castelnovo, which will be announced in the coming days.
Mayor Emanuele Ferrari adds: "We are very pleased to present to the community and the entire Apennines our Stage City logo, which could only have the Stone as its protagonist, following the choice to illuminate it pink 100 days before the race's start - an image that was very much appreciated nationally and beyond on the Giro's channels. The Stone is an extraordinary natural monument, and this logo is also a symbol of our identity - mountain citizens always ready to get in the saddle and tackle uphill roads, with a spirit of sacrifice and without being scared of challenges. Indeed, as the cyclist climbing towards the Stone communicates, these challenges don't frighten us, and if we can face them together, we can win them."
Sports Councilor Carlo Boni adds: "We are working to make the Giro's arrival in Castelnovo a great celebration for the entire Apennine community, activating multiple collaborations with associations, sports groups, companies, schools, and all stakeholders who are enthusiastic about this event that will remain in our town's history. Having a logo that identifies this great work was necessary, but we wanted it to be a symbol we could recognize ourselves in, and make ourselves known to the millions of fans worldwide who follow the race."
