Isaac Del Toro continues to dominate Italian races. The Mexican rider from UAE Team Emirates won the Veneto Tour, leaving all his competitors behind ten kilometers from the finish and raising his arms to the sky in Verona to celebrate his nineteenth career victory. Completing the team's outstanding day was Pavel Sivakov's second place, who preceded the group sprint won by Jonas Abrahamsen (Uno-X Mobility) in third place.
After an initial phase without much excitement and mostly riding in a compact group, at kilometer 64, Elia Viviani (Lotto), wearing number 1 on his back on the day of his last road race, broke away from the group. With him, Mikel Retegi (Equipo Kern Pharma), Davide Bais (Team Polti VisitMalta), Sakarias Koller Løland (Uno-X Mobility), Storm Ingebrigtsen (Uno X Mobility), Michele Bicelli (Biesse - Carrera - Premac), Kevin Pezzo Rosola (General Store - Essegibi - F.Lli Curia), and Filippo d'Aiuto (Petrolike) also gained an advantage.
The eight leaders rode in agreement until Verona, passed the finish line once, and then began the climb towards the Torricelle. Viviani first dropped out, followed by Bicelli. A sextet remained in the lead but was being chased by a strongly advancing group led by UAE Team Emirates, which passed the finish line 53 seconds behind with four laps remaining.
